Description:
Participants will learn the basic terminology required for Applied Behavior Analysis, how to analyze behavior and environmental events that affect behavior, how to use the environment for behavioral change, and how to collect data to ensure progress. It is an excellent starting point for families and professionals whether you've just begun teaching or have a program already in place. It is a good refresher course for veterans as well.

Description:
The information presented builds on skills learned in the any intro to ABA workshop (i.e., the ABC's). In this workshop you will learn how to arrange the environment to promote language, how to teach the learner to use speech more spontaneously, how to get this language to function in a more social manner (less tightly controlled manding, more social commenting), and lastly you will learn more refined and effective techniques for both discrete trial and naturalistic teaching.

This workshop will cover 1) how to identify if repeated pattern of behavior is functioning as a self-stimulatory behavior, 2) how to measure or record that behavior, 3) how to identify an appropriate & high-probability replacement behavior, and 4) how to use positive reinforcement techniques to target those behaviors
